There is seemingly no end to the dislike people have for our President Donald Trump. Me personally, I never really got into politics. To be perfectly frank it dent matter who is running cause they will in every case be human beings, which means in every case that they will have flaws. They will not think the exact same way I do about this or that, there will always be some measure of corruption simply because we all have that capacity.

Now God as we know can do anything

Ephesians 3:20 

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

God is not out maneuvered when everything isn’t perfect or at least perfect so far as we understand. God’s ability to anything means that he can use those who follow him as well as those who don’t. That’s a hard idea I realize cause we think of Gods guidance as being for those who are trying to follow it and that is true but God can also use those set on their own paths to achieve things. Like one might use a river to spin a turbine and generate power. The river is just doing its own thing but with a little ingenuity we can tap that.

In 586 B.C The Israelites were taken into captivity by the Babylonians for 70 years. The 45th chapter of the book of Isaiah, written 300 years prior refers to a man Cyrus, who was a Persian pagan. Who would conquer the Babylonian empire and be king at the end of this 70 year period and be the king responsible for releasing the Jew from that captivity. If you read that chapter in Isaiah you see that the promise of God to preserve and see this man through all the adversity that would ever come his way and see him to the place as ruler to serve that purpose was a strong promise indeed. Here are some of those words, they are powerful.

Isaiah 45 

This is what the Lord says to his anointed,
    to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him
    and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
    so that gates will not be shut:
I will go before you
    and will level the mountains[a];
I will break down gates of bronze
    and cut through bars of iron.
I will give you hidden treasures,
    riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
    the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

300 years before this event happened, 230 years before the captivity even began, God called by name a man who wasn’t even part of the people who conquered the Jews and took them would come and fight those people and win and become the king and then release them. Want to know something even crazier? The line referring to the iron bars being broken and hidden places has been recently shown to refer to the fact that Babylon had only one weakness to its defense, iron bars in a secret tunnel that went under the city.

This is the fact, God doesn’t only use extremely pious people to make bring about his will he can use anything and he is always in control.

Daniel 2:21 

21 He changes times and seasons;
    he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
    and knowledge to the discerning.

Whether we like our president or not God placed him in this place for this time. Whether Gods purpose is to prosper us or punish us with that choice is irrelevant because God works all things together for the good of those who love him.

The president might be an egotist, he might be racist and anything else, he might not be. It actually doesn’t matter cause what ever it is that he in fact is, was just what God chose to put here for this time.

When people say “We need to pray for our president cause the bible says pray for your leaders” they aren’t asking you to agree with the president himself, they are asking you to pray in support of God’s plan.

Christians speak much about how we need to be faithful even in the times we don’t understand Gods plan and usually we think of that in context of a personal trial or hard time but it doesn’t need to be confined. Trust for God is something we have or we don’t, The belief that the word of God is true is one we either have or we don’t.

Its rather hypocritical to say we trust the lord and love his word and then act as though this was one that slipped in under the radar.

I’m not endorsing trump here, all I’m really trying to say is that if God chose to place him in this position for this time I can rest assured that this is just where he is meant to be. I don’t have to trust Government or Trump to be able to trust God. I can pray for our president to fulfill Gods purposes without supporting any of his personal views cause whether anyone wants admit this or not we are all God’s and whether we are working for him or against him he knows how to position the pieces to bring about his purposes,

just something to consider next time someone says we should pray for our president.
